About Us
Ever since we were young, we've always been creative and passionate about many things. Fashion wasn't at the forefront from the beginning, but it was always a part of our many interests. Our love for fashion stemmed from our love for creativity...
Somehow, our various passions led us to the fashion industry. We both ended up at SCAD, studying fashion design and accessories. After graduating, we both moved to New York, where we worked at Kate Spade and Brunello Cucinelli, learning so much about how these big brands operate. When our work visas expired, we returned to Guatemala, each with the idea of starting our own brand. We then realized we could join forces and create something together.
That's how boibá, a lifestyle brand, was born. In the early stages of creating the brand, one thing we had very clear is we wanted to build a brand with meaning beyond just selling clothes. The name, boibá, comes from the Spanish words “voy y va” (comes and goes). As a brand, we aim to capture the fleeting nature of life and encourage people to embrace every small moment. When you choose boibá, you're not just buying a swimsuit; you're joining a community of women who share your zest for life and a sense of self-confidence.
